Rodrygo Scores 2 Late Goals, Madrid vs Man City to Overtime

Real Madrid vs  Manchester City continued into extra time after the aggregate meeting of the two teams drew 5-5 in the Champions League semifinal second leg, Thursday (5/5) early morning WIB.

Madrid managed to score two goals in two minutes before the second half ended through Rodrygo. The two goals made the score 2-1 and the aggregate to a 5-5 draw.

Madrid got the first chance through Karim Benzema when the game had only been running for five minutes. Dani Carvajal's cross was headed by an unmarked Benzema but his header was just over the bar.

Three minutes later it was Man City's turn to pose a threat. Kevin De Bruyne fired hard from outside the penalty box which was still right at Thibaut Courtois.

Man City got the best chance through Bernardo Silva in the 20th minute. The Portuguese midfielder fired a right footed shot from close range which Courtois could still block.

Courtois again forced to work hard five minutes before the first half ended. Phil Foden fired a shot from outside the penalty box into the right corner of the goal but Courtois was able to counter it.

Madrid immediately created a scoring opportunity just seconds after the kick off of the second half. Carvajal sent in a cross which Vinicius met but missed the target.

Madrid more excited after the opportunities that Vinicius got. Los Merengues continued to put pressure on them to score goals that equalized the aggregate meeting.

Vinicius actually got at least two moments to attack but his touch was not perfect. As a result, the momentum that Madrid built was wasted.

The match then went tough for both teams. There was a lot of fighting going on in midfield and there were few chances created by both teams until the middle of the second half.

In the 74th minute Man City managed to lead 1-0 over Madrid. Mahrez's hard left foot shot from inside the penalty box after receiving Bernardo Silva's pass rattled Courtois' goal.

Ahead of the second half, Man City got two consecutive chances through substitute Jack Grealish. However, these two opportunities did not turn into goals because they were still able to be thwarted by Madrid players.

Madrid who are on the verge of entering the box can equalize to 1-1 in the 90th minute. Benzema's bait was able to be cheated by Rodrygo into an empty net.

Madrid could then turn 2-1 ahead just one minute later. Rodrygo scored the second with a header to make it 5-5 on aggregate.

This result made the determination of the team that qualified for the Champions League final between Madrid and Man City continued to the extra time round.
