China refuses to supply aircraft parts to Russia - Entertainment News World

China refuses to supply Russian airlines with aircraft parts. Moscow warns that the safety of passenger flights is under threat.

China refuses to supply Russian airlines with aircraft spare parts . Boeing (BA.N) and Airbus (AIR.PA) did the same thing first, as sanctions for Moscow's invasion of Ukraine . Russia's aviation sector has also been under increasing pressure from Western sanctions. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that the safety of passenger flights was under threat due to the limited supply of spare parts.

Rosaviatsia, Russia's federal aviation authority official, Valery Kudinov said the government would look for opportunities to procure spare parts from countries, including Turkey and India, after failing to get them from China.

He also said Russian companies registered their planes abroad after Moscow was sanctioned by the US and the European Union. "He estimates that several other planes are returned to the leasing company ," he was quoted as saying by Reuters on Thursday (10/3).

Separately, a draft law published on Thursday shows the Russian government plans to order domestic airlines to pay for chartered planes in rubles. In addition, the government plans to make a policy that could prohibit airlines from returning planes to foreign companies if the lease is cancelled.

Previously, the US-based aircraft manufacturer Boeing and France's Airbus stopped supplying spare parts to Russian airlines. Whereas previously, Boeing had a contract with a Russian company, VSMPO-AVISMA, to import metal that is useful for aircraft production, namely titanium.

Titanium raw materials are used to manufacture various components of aircraft parts, such as landing gear .

But Boeing decided to suspend imports of titanium from Russia. Boeing said it was not worried because it had sufficient stock.

"Our inventory and diversity of sources of titanium provides an ample supply for aircraft production," Boeing said in an emailed statement .

In fact, VSMPO-AVISMA provides a third of Boeing's titanium needs. Meanwhile, Airbus is still getting titanium supplies from VSMPO-AVISMA. Airbus said the company continued to supply titanium from Russia and other countries. In an official emailed statement, Airbus said it relied on Russia to supply half of its titanium needs.

Industry sources said Airbus received Russian titanium mainly from VSMPO-AVISMA.

Airlines in many countries are expected to switch to titanium suppliers from Japan. "Japan is considered an old friend and good partner with the US as a source of procurement," said analyst at Jefferies Japan Ltd. Thanh Ha Pham, quoted by Bloomberg , Friday (11/3). Osaka Titanium Technologies Co. and Toho Titanium Co. is one of the few titanium suppliers outside Russia. "They are ready to cover the shortfall," he said. "Both Boeing and Airbus are likely to deepen ties with the two Japanese suppliers." "Boeing and Airbus are likely to review long-term procurement and seek alternative sources for Russian titanium," he added.
